From January through May each year, students are invited to participate in the Art Students League’s class concours exhibition in the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery. Under the guidance of their instructors, students select works to display, which will be judged by other League instructors. The judges award Red Dots for those works deemed best in show. At the end of the season, several Red Dot pieces are purchased for the school’s permanent collection.
Last week the classes of Gregg Kreutz and Sharon Sprung exhibited, along with students in the League’s Welding classes. Red dots were awarded to Sun Oh, Eleanor Adam, and Joe Altman. This week’s exhibition includes work from the classes of Kikuo Saito, Kenneth McIndoe, Thomas Torak, and Silya Kiese.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
