Ellen Eagle’s Portrait of the Young Artist Marela Alvarez has been awarded the Pastel Journal Award at the Pastel Society of America’s 2015 Enduring Brilliance Exhibition, which continues at the National Arts Club[1] (15 Gramercy Park South) through September 26, 2015. Richard Halstead, a Chicago-based artist, has written an insightful post about Eagle’s pastels, “The Quite Power of Ellen Eagle[2],”on his blog for the Halstead School of Portrait and Figure Art[3].
