Now at the Prince Street Gallery[2] (530 West 25th Street) is Wendy Shalen’s Family Matters, an intimate glimpse into several generations of the artist’s family life revealed through recent drawings, paintings, prints, and handmade paper. “I truly feel I can get to know each and everyone of these people,” writes artist Sigmund Abeles, “through Shalen’s sharp incisive lines, delicately smudged tones, sure but tender yet nailed mark-making.” The show continues through May 17, 2014 with a closing reception scheduled that afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m.
