Sherry Camhy’s silverpoint portrait, Olivia, will be on view from June 15 to June 23 at the Lyme Art Association Gallery[1] as part of the Hudson Valley Artists Association’s 85th Annual Juried Exhibition. For this portrait Camhy chose to draw with both sterling and Austrian silver on a specially prepared surface that facilitates the visibility of the precious metals. Over time, the two silvers will begin to tarnish, one becoming a warmer tone, the other a cooler tone. So although Olivia was completed last month, it remains, like all silverpoint images, a work in progress.
