Yasumitsu Morito Sculpture at Carl Schurz Park

Yasumitsu Morito’s sculpture Spirit of NYC has been installed in Carl Schurz Park[1], a 15.2 acre space on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. A reception for this work is scheduled for November 10, 2–4 p.m., at the site, which is just above the Hoop Garden. “Yasumitsu’s work,” according to the exhibit description, “addresses the human form within space, what it is to be human, and how the human spirit responds to social, political, and religious circumstances.”
