Quarantined II

Artists from James Little’s class, “Non-Objective Painting, Color and Design,” forge ahead with their work over ZOOM.

My idea for an online exhibition originated during the initial months of the COVID-19 pandemic, seeing the success of the Art Students League’s virtual student concours. In spite of the building’s closure and the abrupt halt to in-person classes, it became clear the students/artists remained serious about their work and study. So when my class moved online, I assembled some of the most striking and compelling examples for an exhibition that would be a testament to how art serves as a catalyst for spiritual, social, and mental health and stands against intolerance. The result was Quarantined!. These artists, in addition to a few new students, have continued to thrive in a virtual studio setting with my online class. This second exhibition, Quarantined II, reveals their latest work.
