From January through May each year, students are invited to participate in the Art Students League’s class concours exhibition in the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery. Under the guidance of their instructors, students select works to display, which will be judged by other League instructors. The judges award Red Dots for those works deemed best in show. At the end of the season, several Red Dot pieces are purchased for the school’s permanent collection.
Last week the classes of Nicki Orbach, Frank O’Cain, and James Garvey exhibited. Red dots were awarded to Maureen Guinan Fitzgerald, Parisa Harati, and Dan Lombardo. (Ms. Orbach’s students abstained from the judging process.) This week’s exhibition includes work from the classes of Gregg Kreutz and Sharon Sprung.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
