Silverpoint/metalpoint was the Old Masters’ pencil before there were graphite pencils. These artists used the medium for delicate, detailed work, and for cartoons under frescos. Contemporary artists are exploring the medium because it is now easy to use, in any size and for many subjects.

Max Ginsburg in Japan: A Workshop, Lecture, Demonstration, and Exhibition

The FEI Art Museum, in Yokohama, Japan, will present the exhibition Max Ginsburg: Contemporary American Social Realist Artist, September 22 through October 2, 2017.
Bloom’s “Experimental Collage and Assemblage Workshop” will be held over three days, May 31 and June 6 & 8, 2017.
Thomas Torak will lead a plein-air landscape painting workshop in Pawlet, VT, from June 20 to 24, 2017.
Sherry Camhy will be teaching a six-day workshop in Madrid this spring.
Alex Zwarenstein will be teaching a two-week workshop, “Painting in Perspective with an Impressionist Palette,” in Civita Castellana, Italy, August 7–21, 2017.
